ProArgi-9 Plus is sweetened naturally with xylitol. Xylitol is natural. Xylitol is a natural occurring carbohydrate. It is found in almost all plant material, including fruits such as raspberries, strawberries, and plums; vegetables; corn husks; and mushrooms. Xylitol is naturally occurring and is nutritive. Xylitol is also naturally produced in the body during normal metabolism. It is produced during metabolism of glucose in the liver. Xylitol is classified as a sugar alcohol, also called a polyol. Polyols are types of carbohydrates. Xylitol is considered a “nutritive sweetener”. It is a low-digestible carbohydrate and is absorbed slowly and incompletely, having a smaller effect on blood glucose. Xylitol provides 2.4 calories per gram and has a glycemic index of 7.
The primary sweetener in ProArgi-9 Plus is xylitol; only a small amount of sucralose is used. There are 35 milligrams of sucralose per 10 gram serving (some markets have a smaller serving size. A 3.25 g serving size contains 13 milligrams of sucralose).
